 2009/2010 Campaign Goal.....$400,000

 Consider the Need.....

.....Consider Your Part.....

.....Invest in Your Community

BAUW Board Member Matt Myren is Chairman of this year's campaign.   Your gift will impact local residents of all ages, the physically and mentaly challenged, children in need of daycare, seniors in need of nutritious meals, the unemployed in need of career assistance, victim's of violence and abuse, and those in need of basic necessities.

We have set a goal of $400,000 for 2009/10.  While our goal is ambitious, we know we can get there with your support!  Many of the 22 agencies supported by the BAUW have suffered significant cuts from other funding sources.  Though our goal may sound high, it still falls short of the funding requests we receive, and our local agencies are counting on us more than ever.

To those of you who have so generously supported BAUW in the past, we sincerely THANK YOU and ask for your continued support.  To those of you new to BAUW, please give thoughtful consideration to supporting your local community through a donation to the Barrington Area United Way.  The funds raised by BAUW stay right here in our community, supporting integral social services in our community.  Your contrinution will help ensure the agencies we support can continue to provide the services so many in our community depend on.

The Time Is Now

Due to the economic slowdown and cut-backs in state and local funding, there is a widening gap between what is needed in our community and what is being provided.  Your involvement, your contribution, and your caring, can help close this gap, and help us fund these important and responsible health and human service organizations.  There are people in need, right here in our own community.  Please help us, help them.

BAUW Campaign

The United Way process involves raising money through an annual campaign, carefully evaluating community needs, thoroughly assessing and reviewing agency effectiveness and impact, and then distributing the funds to the agencies making the most impact in the areas identified by the community as the largest need.  But of course, it all starts with the fund raising of the annual campaign.

The BAUW campaign is comprsied of several different elements, but the largest parts of the campaign stem from Employee Payroll Deduction Campaigns and in our local Residential Campaign. This two sub-campaigns in fact are the most likely way you can participate in the BAUW campaign.

Employee Payroll Deduction Campaigns.  If you are employed by a medium or large company, you probably have the ability to make payroll deduction to support your chosen charity.

An alternative to donating through payroll deduction, is to simly make a cash donation to the BAUW through our Residential Campaign.  Every Fall we mail our campaign materials to all the residents within our coverage area, and ask for a one time dontation to the BAUW.  Simply complete the donation card and return it to the BAUW office with your check or credit-card information.

Leadership Giver Campaign

Donations of $250 or $500 per year, result in your name being listed in the BAUW Friends Campaign, while donations of $1,000 or more result in your name being listed as a BAUW Leadership Giver.  The benefits of these higher donation amounts is described in the Leadership Giver section of the website.  Of course, the biggest benefit of any charitable gift is knowing that you are helping those less fortunate than you.  To learn more, click on BAUW Leadership Campaign .
